While playing basketball yesterday with Joshua I jammed my little finger on my left hand for the second time in the past month so I think I will lay down playing ball for a little while and hopefully find some other form of exercise during these cold winter months. I hope all have Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Sweeted Out

Yesterday we went to our friends house for an after Christmas get together. We arrived around one and it was beautiful. I love it when the weather feels like April in December. With the weather at 68 degrees we went out and played soccer with their dog. He guarded anyone who got the ball and actively tried to steal it from us. He could be the next Air Bud. Then we played our traditional ball tag for a while and my stomach whined a little. After the traditional game we were at a loss of what to do... habits sometimes. I ate a whole bunch of honey coated cashews and ate a lot of sweets today. I'm tired of sweets and all I want right now is lasagna.

Christmas Eve

We had a busy Christmas Eve. We presented a meal to Mrs. Lisman a mother of some friends and talked with her for about an hour. Then we went to the Siegrists and had a meal with them and stayed for almost two and a half hours. Lastly, we went to the Kroeker's house had supper, played Risk, and watched Silver Bells which was a Christmas movie. As you can see we were pretty busy Christmas Eve.

Christmas presents

We didn't exactly have a white Christmas. But we did have patches of snow! This Christmas I got a Bath&Body set called Icing on the Cake. It smells super sweet. I love it. (Grandmother gave them to me.) But, I used a little to much shower gel the first time. Joshua said he could smell it from downstairs. Michaela gave me a stationary set. And Joshua gave me the DVD "Meet the Robinsons". From Auntie Sherrie I got two Bath&body sets. One is Strawberry and the other is Mango. She also gave me two scrubbies. One to go with each set. Our friends the Malones gave us Table Tennis and Are you smarter than a 5th grader? Grandmother also gave me a VISA for a hundred dollars. I believe that is all I got.

Rubik Solved!

For the first time in my life, I have solved a Rubik's Cube. Grace got one as an early Christmas present and it came with a 7-step solution. I can't exactly pinpoint how long it took me because I worked on and off for a few hours. I am posting this on my Facebook because I haven't got a handle on the difference of purpose between the two.

More than Forty Words

First I want to make it clear that I was not planning to use the blog much. But of course my family wants to make sure that everyone uses it. Also, I am required to write 40 words. Why Me? Why not my sisters or my mother? Although, they probably used forty words anyway, oh well. Well I've used forty words by griping, but I'd better write about something important. Today (Saturday December 20) I went with my dad and helped with the set of music man. I had fun drilling frames together. That's it for now I'm probably getting close to 100 words so I'll finish.

The Census

I have been unsure over the years as to why God was angry at David for taking the census in I Chronicles 21. While reading I Chronicles 27:23-34, I gained some insight. It says that David didn't number them below the age of 20 because of God's promise to increase Israel like the stars of heaven. It seems to me the census was a way for David to see if God had fulfilled this promise. God's wrath was possibly a reaction to David not taking God at His word. I need to make sure that my actions portray a faith in God and what He has promised.

Christmas Music

Michaela and Joshua have practiced diligently and are preparing to play the prelude, offertory, and postlude for both services this Sunday. I am hoping they will do their best.

Freezing Weather

These past two weeks it has been below freezing. But, I love it! Even though I get hot during snowball fights. On Sunday the high is supposed to be 15. And where our church is it is really windy. Michaela doesn't want to go. I don't think I will mind.

Changes

I have changed the title and added a picture. I think the references to our state song are quite appropriate. Pronghorn Antelope (Antilocapra americana) is the only member of its family, Antilocapridae. Please note the translation of the genus-specie name is "American Antelope"! If there are any family members that are of a different opinion as to the look and title of this blog, they will have to figure how to make the changes. Of course, too many changes might confuse followers of this blog over time.

Ta Da!

We've started a blog. But we really need a camera in order to complete this blog. I don't know how consistent this will be but for now it's pretty fun. Come and visit often and hopefully we will have posted again.
